My name is Jessie Mae Grant. I am the second daughter born to Margaret Breland-Grant and Steven Willis. I spent my younger years in Young, MS later moving to Love Quarters in 1968. Being raised by my beloved grandparents, George and Mollie Breland. Education: I attended 5th Avenue Elementary from 1964 to 1970. We were the last 6th grade class to attend school there. From 1970 to 1976 I went to Lumberton High School. After graduating I went to Pear River Junio College and finished there with an Associate of Arts degree. From 1978 to 1980 I attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, graduating with a BS degree in Athletic Administration and Coaching, with a minor in Physical Education. I have been an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for 46 years. Employment: I worked for Hudson Salvage as a Retail-Travel Setup Manager for 35 years. I was a DSI Security Guard for 5 years and then worked as a Shift Supervisor at Forrest General Hospital for 3 years. I am currently employed at Pine Grove Mental Health, working in Housekeeping. I have been a Primerica Agent since 2008. I want to see the City of Lumberton return to a vibrant and prosperous community with more businesses and jobs for the citizens of this town.
